How to get regular readers -part2
ADVERTISEMENTSBefore you read the second part of this series, take a look at part 1. Here are some more tips to help you get regular readers for your blog.
-
Engage your readers in conversation: After writing a post think of engaging your readers in a conversation. You can do this by asking questions and inviting your readers opinions. When they leave a comment reply to them and if possible .If the conversation becomes interesting, other new readers will also take part in it and will also check back freqently for updates. They might even bookmark your post and subscribe to your feeds. Get the picture?
The trick here is that you have to interact with your readers by taking part in the conversation and giving them a few ideas (related to the post).
- Write a series of posts: Another good way of getting regular readers to your blog is to break long posts to a series of posts just like I have done with this post. This increases your chance of being found in search engines and also makes your readers want to come back to your blog to read the next part in the series. But don’t break up posts just for the sake of it or too regularly as it can sometimes get annoying and you may lose visitors.
- Involve your readers in a project: This is something I have seen some other bloggers do. They start a project and ask their readers to help them. I think it’s a great idea and will build readers interest as they may like to feel as they are a part of making something better.
-
Help readers to subscribe: As most of the visitors enter a blog from different pages it is best to place your RSS feed or on all pages. Doing this will help you increase your blogs subscribers. This also gives readers an opportunity to engage themselves with your blog on a daily basis.
Place your RSS feed where readers can find it easily
-
Be interactive: Readers are more likely to come back to your site if you provide ways to interact with you and your blog. When you get comments from readers, reply to them as soon as possible and also mail new readers (who comment) with a thank you message.A comments feature will make your blog interactive. Other things you can do to make your site interactive are to add polls and discussion forums.
Adding a Shoutbox to your blog might help

This is a great article, both parts. I really like the project idea. Not only does it give you readers, it also gives you a very focused conversation..

I think writing posts as part of series is a really good tip. I tried doing so with a foreign bank series and got more hits than I usually receive. keep up the good work.
