AdSense Testing Out Rotating Ads

ADVERTISEMENTS

While browsing an hour ago, I noticed two new arrow buttons on an AdSense ad on a blog which allowed visitors to see a new set of ads without refreshing the page! Just a few minutes back, I saw the same type of ads on this blog too.

Here are the screenshots I took

The first ad scrolls ads vertically and the second one horizontally. These type of ads don’t always show as Google seems to be testing them out. AdSense has been performing badly on this blog for a month now, and I hope this new rotating ads will improve performance.

But do you think visitors will click the arrow buttons to see more ads? How has AdSense performing for you these days?

Found that on my blog today. I think it will increase more clicks though.

I doubt people will click on the ad scrolls just to search the right ad on which to click :)

Maybe they will click the ad scrolls because it’s something new and they will want to see what happens.

Today I saw this little arrow buttons on our website but I don’t think this will increase the CTR. Like you said, time will tell us.

    Hi John

Simple answer to the last question
The website targetted mostly to webmasters doesnt do good with adsense because
1)they know most about adsense and nobody likes to click on it either they may be jealous,
    2) Or returning visitors in favour of you might think that any more follow of the ads within your website may lead Ban from the adsense .
The second doesnt play perfectly here until u have any fool proof method like sophistcated softwares to hide adsense from the returning visitors and noting them to the vistors that its safe for you fot them to click

I dont think people will click on them. Adsense has not been performing well for me too ever since they redefined there clickable areas.

Probably it would have made some sense if the ads auto scrolled…don’t think readers will take the pain to scroll thro…may be initially, to know what those scroller icons are….

    Have something to say?
