Improve Your Typing Speed With TypeFaster

ADVERTISEMENTS

TypingDo you take a lot of time to write a blog post? A lot depends on how well you can type. If you dont type well, you should try out some freely available Typing Tutor softwares to improve yourself. The better you get at typing, the lesser time you need to spend on writing the post.

While there are many softwares available that teach you to type faster, the freeware that I liked the most so far was TypeFaster that teaches you how to touch-type and improve your typing speed.

This program has been designed to teach people to touch-type. Touch-typing is a skill that can be learnt with practice and perseverance. Touch-typing is a method of typing which uses 8 fingers and one thumb. Touchtypists do not have to look at the keyboard to find the keys they want to type.

When you first start TypeFaster, it introduces you to the software and gives you basic info like what are homekeys and which keys each of your finger should rest on. Once you are ready you can start the tutor.

TypeFaster

TypeFaster even includes a 3D game to make learning to touch-type more interesting.

TypeFaster Game

Speaking of games, here are some more that will help you improve your typing speed:

You can find more typing games at freetypinggame.net and onlytypinggames.com

Do you know any other good softwares or games to help improve typing speed?

I’m afraid the adage pertaining to old dogs and new tricks would probably kick in if I tried to retrain my fingers to touch type having spent the last 20 years writing with a kind of hybrid between touch and point and peck…

I timed myself once, though I can write at about 35 words per minute this way (that’s thinking on the fly and typing as I go)

Fast timing is very important. I have never learn using the software to train for fast typing. I found people who are type more frequently with a correct finger in a right word will do if he train daily with memorize all the word. Anywhere, it is a good software that will help too. I’m discuss in my blog

Ok, I can’t compare my touch typing tutor with this cool application (hell, the 3d game reminds me of “Typing of the dead” ^^) but if you want to learn touch typing without installing any software, check out my website: http://10-fast-fingers.com

Yes, I’ve ever tried. It’s a nice typing tutor. But I wondered why I couldn’t hear any sound when I played the game.

Have something to say?
