WordPress Comment Moderation Notifier

ADVERTISEMENTS

Do you prefer to moderate comments on your blog but tired of getting your inbox flooded with moderation notices? How-To Geek has developed a WordPress Comment Moderation Notifier software which sits in your system tray and alerts you whenever there is a comment for moderation. It accesses the WordPress XML-RPC API by means of a small WordPress plugin.

Using the software, you will be able to quickly launch your comment moderation page via the menu you get when you right-click the icon in your system tray. When there are new comments you will get a little message pop up and clicking on it will take you to the moderation page. The software also lets you control on how often it should check for new comments.

WordPress Comment Moderation Notifier Software

This small application can be very handy to moderate comments as soon as they arrive as well as to keep your inbox clean from moderation notices. Currently I think the software works for just one blog at a time. If so it would be cool if it could work with multiple blogs.

For a long time I have been using Gtalk to instantly notify me of comments in moderation and then I use a filter to easily delete the moderation notification emails. But this software would make make things much easier.

Will you use it? Let me know in comments.

Thanks for the link, I hope the software works for you. I haven’t gotten all that much feedback on it.

What a handy bit of software, looks great. I’ll have to get this.

But as you said, it would be useful if it could work with mutliple blogs. I have 6 sites powered by wordpress in total and this would be a life saver if it could work with all of them!

    Thanks for sharing :)

sweet plugin that’s going to save people a lot of time. I used to moderate my comments before I approved them but I set my options to approve all comments automatically now.

Comments are not held for moderation most of the time on my blog, so I think I won’t be using it as of now.

But it can really be a life saver ;) to some like Tupac said.

Since I am using Spam Karma2 to protect my blog, I get very less moderation comments… :) But if you are getting lot of comments in moderation queue then this is very useful.

    @ Desi

My blogs suffer a lot from Spam despite using Akismet, although I have yet to experiment with other anti-spam plugins.

    Any suggestions?

I have not activated comment moderation on my blog. This plugin will be useful for people who gets 100s of comments everyday, otherwise I dont feel this is much important.

Like Nirmal and Shankar said, I haven’t activated comment moderation in my blog. So right now I won’t be using it. Maybe later.

It’s a nice plugin, but I wouldn’t use it until it can be used with multiple blogs. I have too many sites to have a tray utility to track just one…

    =(

As Nirmal said, I too don’t have comment moderation active. And I rarely receive comments for moderation. Either they are outright spam and are canned by akismet or they are valid comments..
