SwitchPlanet - Trade You Old Stuff For Stuff You Need
ADVERTISEMENTSDo you own old CDs, DVDs, Game or Book collections that you do not use anymore? SwitchPlanet lets you exchange your used DVDs, CDs, Video Games, and Books for some new and interesting ones that you really want to see, hear or play.
You may also be able to trade clothing, electronics, tools and much more soon with other members of SwitchPlanet. The best part is that it’s 100% free to use!
SwitchPlanet is a social media trading site where members can switch their old DVDs, CDs, Games and Books with other members for free…sending members have to pay for shipping but they pay nothing when they request/receive something.
Social features such as friends, groups and forums are available.
The SP Network also supports various charities via our SwitchFunds program.
SP is basically a great place to get the media/entertainment you enjoy at the cost of shipping.
You offer your stuff that you do not need anymore and send it to members of Switchplanet. This earns you Switchbucs which can be used to order the stuff that you are interested in from other members. The only expense that you have is the shipping costs to ship the stuff to the member who request it.
Creating an account is free and easy. Within a few minutes you will be able to list your items as well as set up your trading preferences.
Start trading your unused stuff at SwitchPlanet today!

I believe the shipping cost is not cheap too.
The idea is kind of “new”. We’re giving something out but we’re the one who pay the fee too.

I read about this service in many blogs, But this shipping would be useful within a country only. Shipping costs to other countries like US are really high and it would be higher than the cost of the CD sometimes.

John…thanks for the great review!
Looks like there is a lot of interest in us expanding to other countries and that is the plan…just need to figure out how to make it happen.
Translating the site is one of the biggest things to get done and setting up the support system so I can receive support tickets in lets say French but I get it in English…then when I reply the French user gets my reply in French.
I really want to get everything working near perfectly here in the US then I will start to tackle the challenge of going global.
Thanks for the feedback everyone!

Give away your old stuff for FREE and PAY for shipping too? Is it just me or is this a really bad idea? And even if you earn those points, you get to order just old stuff discarded by others right?
