Nokia N73 Music Edition Purchased

ADVERTISEMENTS

Nokia N73 Music EditionIt’s been some time since I wanted to get rid of my old Nokia 3330 and own the Nokia N95 or the Apple iPhone. But ever since I came to know that the battery power of Nokia N95 doesn’t even last a day and is a bit expensive too, I decided to go for some other mobile phone until the iPhone is released at my place.

Also I heard that the iPhone has only a 2 megapixel camera, if that is true I am not sure if I want to buy it as I want to take good quality images and videos.

I did a research for a few days to find out the best mobile phone that can fulfill my needs. What I basically needed was a good camera and a music player, the Nokia N73 Music Edition with its 3.2 megapixel camera looked like the perfect choice for me.

I purchased Nokia N73 music edition yesterday using this blogs earnings and have been testing out its camera and music player ever since. The mobile phone offers good sound quality and I liked the camera too except that at low light conditions, the image and video quality is often low.

Nokia N73 Music Edition

Here is a picture of my car taken with the 3.2 megapixel camera of my new Nokia N73 Music Edition

Toyota Qualis

I have resized and reduced the quality of the above image so that it does not slow this page down. You can view the original image here.

I find the Nokia N73 camera producing better results in the morning when there is sufficient light. To get better image quality at night, I tried setting ‘Night’ as the scene mode (the flash is in the automatic setting) but I did not see any improvements.

I may start a Flickr account now to store some of the images I take with my new phone and may even display the latest images from my Flickr account on this blog’s sidebar or footer for readers to see :)

I got the Upstage phone free from Sprint. It’s pretty nifty as a music player and I can watch videos and stuff. However, the camera on it takes grainy pictures and you can’t upload them to the internet.

Actually, I don’t own a mobile phone - it’s quite nice to be uncontactable at times and I don’t really miss having one.

Hay dude thats an awesome phone, with lots of features…btw cell phone cameras are bit different from normal digital camaras….normal digi cams produce better results than camera phones…especially at night.
But during day time camera phones too produce awesome results:)

    cheers.

I liked the camera too except that at low light conditions, the image and video quality is often low.

Thats common to all mobile phones and its mainly due to the weak flash.

I wanted to get a cell phone with 3.2 megapixel camera, but in the end settled with sony cybershot 550i due to budget limitaions.
Gotta start saving for iPhone :D .

    I now use a Nokia N80ie. I don’t love this phone but I managed to register http://www.n80ie.com/

Maybe you can give me some tips on monetizing such a domain name? I originally thought of bashing the phone with daily posts on “why it sucks”, but thought it was better to try to create a sense of community.

I don’t like the phone so much because of it’s heavier weight, not-so-great battery life, hard to use keypad, and various other design and usability flaws. I personally feel that Nokia and Moto just release phones to us as market research–that we pay them to do!

Anyway, I guess I do like the camera quality more than I have with previous camera phones. I like the storage. I think I like your new phone better though because it seems to have a better form factor and most of the same specs as mine.

Anybody wanna buy a used N80ie and a great domain name?

    :-)

Yeah. It would launch next year. Also remember that its likely to cost a lot more here. Apple has signed a deal with Cingular so they can give some discount in US.

have you compared the two phones..
and are you satisfied with the image quality of you phone…
and what about motorola rokr its cool except the 2 megapixel camera ….you must have compared these phones …what made you to zeroed upon nokia.
your phone is cool too just wanna to know your views also…

Nokia rules , period . Any other samsung or sony ericsson fans might not agree with me , but for a Nokia user , well , they get my point . N73 is a nice addition . To solve your lighting problems you might want to get an additional “flash light” ( don’t know the exact translation , sorry ) . It’s the same thing you use for a camera :)

Nokia N73 Music Edition is really cool. I just got one from Philippines during my vacation. It was the “in thing phone” there aside from N70. It cost me $500 (Canadian dollars). Not bad!! for a very cool phone.

Actually, John, the iPhone is major crap with no 3G and a lot of other defects. No to mention the fact it will get here in Kerala only after a year.

I use a N70. I love the phone and its a really good device to stay organized. Nokia has powerful organizer features. And, if you know Thilak of Tech-Buzz, ask him about N95. He told me once in a phone call that its “totally screwed”. He said it hangs up atleast once everyday.

Great choice, John. My dad owns a Sony Ericsson and I used to have a Moto. I’ve used them all. So, I’m pretty sure to say that Nokia, is by far, the best mobile phone manufacturer in the world. Aone sets. Value for money. :)

    Hi all

I purchased N73 last week, mst tell you its a nice phone, first i was not in a mood to purchase any nokia set as their proceesing speed is damn slow, but due to its killing looks n features i jst thought of taking a risk(coz i cant wait for iphone), i got few pros and cons in there

    1) camera is awesome better then SE cybershot or any other, but not so good in night( its ok, 4 me camera phones are meant for only capturing regular moments not for special).(7/10)

    2) music quality is fine not better then SE, when it comes to Bass Booster.(infact its not louder).(6/10)

    3) Best part even after so many apps. proccessing is jst great(8/10).

4)looks, weight, display DVD quality Vedios and audio(8/10).(jst great)

I must have wait for iphone but when i heard its just 2MP, moreover the kind of technologies in these phones like 3G, EGDE, GPS depends upon the service provider, but in india,no such tech has arrived even GPRS is bad here.

    thanks
    Mr. A
