AdSense Now Lets You Use 3 Linkunits
ADVERTISEMENTSAdSense have updated their policies today and now allows publishers to have 3 link units per page. Earlier they used to allow only 1 linkunit per page.
Link units look like navigation links and when placed near your main navigation links can perform well. Linkunits got me $166.70 out of the $1,218.75 that I earned through AdSense last month.
I currently have 2 linkunits on this blog, one below the navigation and another that I just added below posts. I am interested to see how well the second linkunit will do over the next few days.
Read the complete policy update on the AdSense blog.

Dear John,
Congrats for your earing for last month. I am happy to know your blog. Your blog provides helpful information and it inspired me a lot. Id AdSense allow 3 link units in stead of only 1, it will boost AdSense Earning for site owners using adsense ads. It sounds good that you earning $166.70 from only link units. Your blog’s appearance is just superb. I love it and wish I could update my FameFire.Com theme with it.
Regards

When I had link units on my page, it didn’t really generate a whole lot of income. So, I took them down. Maybe I’ll try again with them soon….

I really need to find a good spout for link units on my site. I tested some this afternoon, but wasn’t happy with the results.
Now does this mean Google IS or ISN’t generating a lot of revenue with these units?

I have to agree with the others - I have never had any significant earnings from the link units. Will be interested to hear how your experiment goes.

I gave up on link units ages ago. I just couldn’t get them to earn any money. Maybe I’ll give them another whirl on a couple of my sites but I’m still not convinced…

I suppose that is not such a good idea but since John is giving blogging and how to increase your earnings tips I think is good to tell us how much he earns, at least it makes us wish for more.

I was always of the impression that link units don’t perform well so never really tried them. However, when a friend recently suggested that it worked really well for him then I decided to give it a try. It is doing fine since then, better than I expected.
I am not sure if I would try three link units on the same page though.

I don think having three link units will actually help the publishers because even though link units bring some money a majority of the money come through ad units.

I think it’s easier to earn money via text units because you can click on any topic you want to see the ads you want, but it takes two clicks to earn money, so that evens it out.

I’ve had good luck with link units. When looked at a revenue per pixel perspective, I think they’re second only to Text-Link-Ads for me.

Hey well done with your Adsense earnings, I’ve not used Linkunits myself, but I may try incorporating one or two into my site and see their performance.
Thanks for the advice on this.

On some of my sites they do “decent” while others they don’t do nothing. I believe it’s the site design that helps the clicks on the link units. Not every site will be ad link friendly.

Dude do you think that a site with an average traffic of around 200-300 visits a day can make a killing from ad units

Those who have not tried Link units should give them a try and see if they work for you. You just can’t say until you experiment.
For me Link units do well, but not much compared to the ad unit.
Anyways I removed my 2 link units to see how well the ad unit will do alone. Just an experiment.

Thanks for sharing. According to my experience link units do much worst than the classic 336*280 ad unit.
But still it’s worth considering it for the front page.

Nothing, if anything the added links hurt. I’m thinking about taking them off of all my sites unless they are making money.
