Duplicate File Finder
ADVERTISEMENTSHaving multiple copies of the same file takes up unnecessary space on your hard disk and even creates confusion. Duplicate File Finder is a simple to use freeware that helps you eliminate these duplicate files on your PC by locating them in one or more selected search paths.
It quickly scans the files and compares them based on Byte for Byte Comparison, which ensures 100% accuracy. You can then choose to delete all the selected duplicate files.
Duplicate File Finder does not contain any adware or spyware and is Vista compatible and best of all it is small and free.

Nice thought, but the thing is kinda stupid. I had it search my C drive and it basically listed every file as a duplicate because I have my C drive sync to an external connected drive. I don’t know, maybe I’m the stupid one.

Try Duplicate Finder, This program is fast in searching Duplicate Files with good interface.
Duplicate Finder does CRC32, byte/byte and Same FileName comparisons and allows you to batch mark and batch delete or move the dupes. Main view shows all file details so you can combine that with a quick review to be sure you’re not moving or deleting anything you don’t want to. It also have popup resizable picture viewer to view picture files.
Search duplicate file contents regardless of file name, Duplicate MP3s, photos, and any file type can be searched.
Duplicate Finder protect system files and folders to exclude them from
scanning. It means you are not going to delete files which is required by the operating system.

Have look to Vistanita Duplicate Finder, use byte-to-byte comparison to find exact duplicate file. Support additional add-in such as MP3 add-in to search duplicate MP3 by its tag(same artist, same title and same album).Work and Vista and its price is absolutely low ,worth to buy. Check out :

Another option to find duplicate files is Clone Tools that works on folder level. This means that it finds folder containing duplicate files and lets you decide what to do with each folderr.
