A New Fresh Look For AdSense Ads

ADVERTISEMENTS

AdSense announced today that they have given their AdSense Ads a new look. After checking out the screenshot, I find the new look visually appealing and less like an advertisement, especially with the ‘Ads by Google’ placed at the bottom.

Here’s how the new AdSense ads look

AdSense look

I think the new look will blend better and thus may help increase CTR (Click Through Rate) and help advertisers too. The AdSense team says that they are in the process of rolling out this change to all ad units, and we will be able to see our ad units automatically updated over the next few days and that the fonts and colors of our ads won’t be changed.

Also, currently it is not possible to opt out of the new design but we may see more format options in the future.

I think my main AdSense Ad unit (below post title on single post pages) already has the new look. Check it out:

Old AdSense Ad

I have noticed that in the past few days my AdSense CTR has slightly increased, it could be because of the new look.

What do you think of the new AdSense Ads look? Do you think it will help increase CTR?

I like the new logo the best. I just hope they did enough testing to ensure it’s the best way to go. ;)

I just dont like that tag of “Ads by google at the end”. It might reduce the ctr if people get to nice its an ad

Yes, my CTR has increased by about 1-2% this month! Plus this makes the ads closer to professional.

I think they look better but I have to agree with Ashish’s concern - is the Ads by Google to prominent? Will it reduce CTR? Time will tell.

    I like this new look.
I’ve waited for couple of days to see what happens and looks like my CTR has incresed.
I hope it will stay this way.

The ads will be phased out in implementation.. you should get the ads soon on your site.. Else in adsense setup get a new ad code and replace it with the current one. If that still does not work contact adsense support

I think the new look mainly serves the purpose of further spreading the word about Google, because that’s what essentially has been changed. I know there are publishers who experienced a decrease in CTR, and it can be due to more prominant ‘Ads by Gooooooooogle’ look.

Have something to say?
