Blend Your AdSense Ad
ADVERTISEMENTSIt’s a known fact among many AdSense publishers that blending AdSense Ads increases CTR (Click Through Rate). Here is a good example of a blended Half Banner (234×60) AdSense Ad that I found on FreewareFiles.com.
Did not spot the Ad? Maybe this can help…
They have smartly adjusted the font size and color of the other links to look like the AdSense Ad.
If you can blend your Ads this well, you will certainly notice an increase in your AdSense CTR. But don’t give headings such as ‘Sponsored Links’ for your Ad like they have done.

Good blending..for those who are familiar to adsense, you can easily notice it, but not really for normal visitors who seek for information

John,
That sounds pretty good, people are already doing this to a certain extent, however, this just takes things to the next level. I like it!

John i have done a similar type of blending in one of my seo sites that i m going to launch soon
seo-resource.com (Its not up yet but will be in a few days)
but i think it violates the Google Adsense TOS? because you are confusing the users?

I would think that this would violate the terms. If we remember your previous post on blending with graphics they decided that was against the TOS and, even previous to that announcement they did require that you had a small divider line between the two. I would think the same requirements would apply here.
If this doesn’t violate terms though this would be perfect

I hate to step in and tell you this, but that method IS against Google’s TOS. You see.. blending your content to match ad font, color, and line spacing is totally legal. Though if you try to make it blend in with other content on your site (tricking users into clicking) it is against google’s TOS.
Publishers are not permitted to display Google ads in a manner that may mislead users, causing them to mistake Google ads for site content.
Though his “sponsored links” may make it some exception to the rules

Ahh, finally found the post that assured me this was violation of TOS.. http://www.johnchow.com/index......sense-ads/
True story: people with “john” in their domain kickass

Those other links are in fact sponsored links.. so maybe this does not qualify as “misleading” the users.

Without the heading “Sponsored Links”, this Ad would have violated AdSense TOS.
btw, this site is currently being moved to another server, so when it’s complete all comments made during the ‘move’ might not be there

Whether or not this is against Google’s TOS it is certainly unethical.
Using that technique is just fooling the blog’s viewers (us).
Everyone can, and should, format their ads to allow a better user experience, but not in a way they might click them accidentally.
I recommend you to read this post I wrote: http://www.pedropais.com/2006/.....-fair-use/

Anshul, there are many ways that you can blend the Ads. It depends on your web layout.
This is only an example.

I don’t see how images next to ADS is against the TOS and this isn’t. Once they realize they’ve clicked the ad, they’re going to be hitting the back button.
