Shoemoney was Hacked

ADVERTISEMENTS

Yesterday I visited shoemoney.com and found that it was hacked. Here’s a screenshot of what i found-

Shoemoney hacked

While I was trying to read what was posted there by the Turkish Hacker, it redirected to some other malicious site and tried to install something on my PC. I quickly closed Firefox but since then my PC has been slow. Maybe it’s infected now with some Trojan :(

The hacker was just lucky that I did not even have an AntiVirus installed at that time. My friends who used Opera to visit the hacked site was not redirected to any site. And I though Firefox was a safe browser!

Opera is a safer and faster browser than Firefox that’s why it is my primary browser. ;)

Opera was my primary browser too. I started using Firefox because it supports extensions. If Opera starts supporting extensions too, then I may make it my primary browser again :)

I think that it is not about which one is safer, the thing is that firefox is getting rapidly popular which is drawing hackers’ attention to it, as it is already for IE

If Opera gets more popular (it is popular already, but not as IE and FF), it will also become a target for hackers and you might bump into a hacked site one day and get infected.

So, all we gotta do is to install a good anti virus, with good heuristic.

Amey, Nod32 rocks.. I tried almost every AV out there, but only mr. Nod here has please me.

By the way, John, Nice blog dude!! great info, clicking the feed button now :)
