Google updating Backlinks
ADVERTISEMENTSIt was reported here on August 24th that Google was updating Backlinks on these two datacenters: and .
But for some reason the backlinks has not been updated on the majority of their datacenters.
Neil Patel states some possible reasons for this:
- Google is trying a last minute tweak to their algorithm and they want to test it out on a few datacenters before rolling it out to the rest
- A problem occurred when they updated those two datacenters
- The update “accidentally” happened so they decided to halt it for now
Currently I have 190 backlinks to johntp.com and 59 to https://johntp.com as Google is considering both as different domains. I hope my backlinks are corrected this time

Backlinks are the links pointing to a website. They are also called as inbound links.
They are important because search engines like Google give more importance to websites that have a good number of quality backlinks.Sites with better backlinks usually rank better in SERPs (Search Engine Result Pages).

Hope your backlinks are corrected soon. By the way I have only 64 backlinks.

No. of backlinks does not matter, what matters is quality of links. If you have 100 bad quality links (link farms, link exchange sites etc..) and other person has 10 good quality links, then 10 links will have more importance than 100 links.
And no. of links from unique sites is also important.
