CSS Optimization

ADVERTISEMENTS

Blogging Pro has an interesting analysis on various CSS Optimization tools that are helpful in making your site load faster. The tools tested are CSS Optimizer, Icey’s CSS Compressor, Flumpcakes CSS Optimiser, and CleanCSS out of which the winner is Icey’s CSS Compressor.

I tried Icey’s CSS Compressor and got my CSS compressed by 45%. But when I tested it here, I found the layout completely broken.

So for me the winner is CSS Tweak, which works perfectly even though it compresses my CSS only by 30%.

Which CSS Optimizer works best for you?

I actually tried Icey’s and it compressed it to 47% and my site still looks fine. Thanks for letting us know, I’ve been trying to cut back on the load time for a while.

Wow, apparantly I must have had my site cached at work because at home it looks messed up and the normal CSS file is at work so it’s going to look messed up until tomorrow morning.

Ryan- I just saw your site, it’s completely messed up, just the way my site looked when I used Icey’s CSS Compressor. And why did you not take a backup of your orginal CSS file?

    I recommend CSS Tweak :-)
