For those of you who want to have multiple instances of Yahoo! Messenger 8 running in the same time, this is what you need to do

Download and run the ym8multi.reg file from this ZIP archive

For uninstall, download and run the ym8multi_unist.reg file from this ZIP archive

Man… I have enough trouble keeping up with one running Ymsgr let alone running two! LOL!!! I am a dumb guy! and barely can chew gun and walk at the same time!!! I am already having trouble typing this comment while thinking running two Ymsgrs… but for the smart ones, such as yourself… I am sure that is a great program!

Yes, I love Yahoo! Messenger. Using this method I can login into two accounts at the same time.

I may be dumb (well Im not but anyway) but I cant figure out how to log in to the second ID. I applied the registry patch (and the one that removes the adds) and I launch messenger, but I see no way of using the second ID. If I run teh executable, it simply takes me back to the original one, and even if I copy the executable to “messenger2.exe” it still takes me back to the originalk window. Please can you tell me how to log in to the second ID?

Kean- Are you having ‘Sign in automatically’ ticked? If you have ticked it and double-click Yahoo! Messenger the second time, it will automatically sign in to the First ID and the other gets signed off.

Nevil- Just extract the zip file and run the patch. Then double-click Yahoo Messenger as many times as you want to login to multiple IDs at the same time. Also make sure ‘Sign in automatically’ is not ticked.

You cannot login in at same time on multiple computer onto the same account. One of them will be logged out automatically.
