AdSense Ad Positioning
ADVERTISEMENTSAs most of you might have noticed, I placed Adsense ads on this blog and have been experimenting to find out the best positions for the Ads. Some things I noticed are that the Ads on the footer and link units don’t get as much clicks as the ones below the post title.
Also placing random images next to the Ads really boosted the clicks. Currently I use tables to hold the images and Ads together. Some readers asked me how I had done this so I would like to share it here. The following example is for the 336×280 Adsense Ads.
- first create several 90×280 images. You can use the free icons found here for the images
- download the rotator script from here and rename it to rotate.php
- Create a folder and put all the images and the rotator script in it
- Now use tables (or css if you like) to hold the images and the Adsense Ad together
Here’s the table code I used
Place your Adsense code here
That’s it, this should boost your clicks. Does this violate Adsense TOS? Maybe this can clear things up.
Please don’t use my images for your Ads
Apart from experimenting with AdSense Ad Positioning, I have tried to track the Adsense clicks and earnings.
I currently use the Firefox extension- Adsense Notifier to display my Adsense earnings on the statusbar.
You can also view your Adsense earnings from your sidebar with the plugin available for download from . The plugin displays your Ad’s page impressions, clicks, page CTR, page eCPM, and your earnings.
Also I would like to thank LiewCF for helping me submit the Tax Information needed by Adsense.
I will continue experimenting and report anything I find interesting

Sorry John but this is the best way to get your self banned from Google Adsense.
They told me that I can’t continue with it and I am going to remove those images from the site ASAP to avoid any inconvinience in future.
FYI Google Adsense hates this and mind you they will ban you for this.

Just open your image in Photoshop or any other image editting software and add a vertical line and give it a light shadow if you want.

I am just experimenting without images. Right now I feel the images makes it look more of an Ad.
