Customized Landing Page for your blog
ADVERTISEMENTSA landing page is the page people arrive on your site from a search engine. When visitors reach your blog from search engines they probably skim your content to see if it is what they are looking for. If not, they are likely to leave your site and perhaps never come back again. So why not help them by showing them related posts to their search on your blog?
A WordPress plugin called Landing Sites does exactly this. You can include a short welcome message with links to articles on your blog that match their query they made on the Search Engine.
To get a proper idea of this, why don’t you watch the plugin in action on this blog? Click to do a search for ‘utorrent’ on Google. The 3rd or 4th entry will be a link to my popular uTorrent article. Click it and you will see the welcome message with the related links on the top.
The welcome message is only shown when a visitor reaches your blog from search engines. This plugin is a must have for every blog because it will help your convert casual surfers to regular readers and also make them stay longer on your blog and increase pageviews.
Installation is easy. All you have to do is copy some code on to your blog template file and upload and activate the plugin.
I have also added the plugin to my essential list of WordPress Plugins.

Great concept John, I get lots of listings as number 1 on search engines on both my sites around 20% hits comes from there, and this really is worth doing.
I’ll write my module for Joomla though as i am using that, but I will try and make it seem a little less obivious right now from what i saw its right in your face, more relevant than what the person may already have come in, so will try and hide it some place noticeable but a little less obivious.
