Windows Vista Beta Available on Bittorent
ADVERTISEMENTSAs you may know Microsoft had decided to offer Windows Vista Beta 2 to the public for free. You are given two options-download the file or order a DVD. The download is about 3.2 GB.
Due to heavy downloads, Microsoft’s servers are under severe strain and they are now strongly pushing the DVD option. Microsoft, of course, has chosen to ignore the most efficient file distribution method in existence - bittorent. Chris Pirillo and Jake Ludington have, without any endorsement from Microsoft, created VistaTorrent with instructions on downloading the file through Bittorent. They also point to the Microsoft site that will generate a key for the software.
Now since Windows Vista Beta is available on BitTorrent, I might consider downloading it. What about you?

I use Windows XP with all graphics disabled. And Vista with the graphics disabled might look just like XP. So on second thought, I am not going to download it.

I just ordered the DVD online, Its shipping out after 21st June.
I just can’t wait for that big a download to complete man, even is one file gets corrupt you lose the whole thing, losing bandwith is not a problem though as I am on a high speed unlimited connection.
Anways I had to shell out 700 for the DVD which comes with Windows Vista beta 2 32 and 64 beta versions and Windows Vista Release Candidate 1 which again is for 32 and 64 bit versions

Hmm Madhur, buying the pirated version would not be quite beneficial, as Microsoft just got smarter and it does an online check to send periodical updates.
So that’s the reason i ordered the DVD online as i would atleast get all the updates, I am going to upgrade my laptop to and add more 160GB hdd and some Ram and a video card.
Well its not actually for Vista only, but I wanted a reason to updgrade it anyways.

There might be some way to bypass that online check. The online check method have been defeated before in other small Softwares and Games. So why not for Microsoft Vista?

I recommend against downloading from the official site based on my personal experience as the completed download was corrupted in all the three times I tried.
I am currently downloading it via torrent from http://www.mininova.org/tor/417971.
: Also you don’t need a DVD writer to install Vista (assuming you are going to do a dual boot w/ XP). Use Daemon tools to launch the .iso in a virtual drive. Check this for more info: http://www.istartedsomething.c.....t-with-xp/
