EasyPHP is the Solution

ADVERTISEMENTS

Ever thought of testing your WordPress skins and plugins on your computer before using it on your site? Well, EasyPHP is the solution…

EasyPHP is for those who find the installation of Apache,PHP amd MySQL impossible. Using it you can test your site on your computer first before uploading to a Web server.

All you have to do is download it,install it and choose a name for your database and your server is ready. Put all your site files into the ‘www’ folder which is by default, located at “C:\Program Files\EasyPHP1-8\www”.

I mainly use EasyPHP to test my WordPress skins and plugins before using it on my site.

It’s not a good idea to install EasyPHP or for that matter, any such stuff to a path that has spaces like the default C:\Program Files\EasyPHP1-8\www. I always set it up at C:\EasyPHP1-8\www.

Here’s one great tutorial on it: http://www.canowhoopass.com/guides/easyphp/

You could also try XAMPP from apachefriends.org

    IMO it has better functions.

John thanks easy php is really good. Now I am able to work with my blog easily and I am saving bandwidth also.

But when I enable permalinks in my easy php blog the posts become in accessible. Is it a issue with easy php or how to resolve….

I had thought about your mail asking for help in EasyPHP today and was thinking of posting a tutorial on it.

I encounter the same problem when I enable permalinks. Anyways, why do we need it for testing themes?

As you said we do not need permalinks in easy php…

I think you should put a tutorial on Easy PHP installation and configuration.

Good Links buddy…… What I wanted was how to configure Wordpress on Easy PHP. The problem I faced was that i was not able to hook up wordpress to easyphp mysql database. Now that has been resolved. So if john puts up a tutorial on how to configure wordpress in easyphp then that would be great as it will help out other guys….
