Nice tip john… I need to try all these tips. And many of your tips have helped me get traffic to my blog. I once submitted my blog to blogexplosion and they rejected mine stating that it had too many ads…

Shiva- I don’t see why BlogExplosion rejected you as you only use Adsense. Why don’t you try again?

Back again. I just have a query regarding the assumption that by associating yourself with a Google, Yahoo or MSN related application you are increasing the chance of a successful indexation? Whilst it will will help get your blog included into these search engines, the frequency and depth of which they spider and index your content will vastly depend on a myriad of other features, such as (in Google case at least) your PageRank, link saturation and inbound/outbound links.

Thank you for all the good suggestions. I have a question, If my blog has already been listed on google, should I still use submitexpress.com? Will Google give me penalty if I have already been listed with them but then use some other softwares that will submit my blog to many other search engines, but also to google again?

If you are already listed on Google then no need to do it. Other Search Engines will find you soon.

well using my yahoo, msn and even submitting you site to google’s personalised page really helps to get your site crawled quickely…
But im not sure how Blogexplosion helps…and i’m not sure of making any descent amount of money from there service.
And I think using submitexpress is a bad idea…i think you shouldn’t use any of these automatic submission tools….Infact i think that manual submission to these search engines is also worthless…infact they will dec your SERPS…let the spiders follow the links from other sites and then come to your site…
This a more natural way…and if any search engines find your site through crawl, defnitly you’ll be ranked higher.
I had blogged about with my views about this blog with a link back to you…if you would like to add any comment, here is the link.

I find writing articles and submitting them to the major article directories excellent for not only getting your site noticed by the search engines (esp the big G), but actually getting the results included in their listings. And there are other benefits - a steady stream of traffic. This can be great whilst your search presence is built up.
There are some good blog directories too - best of the web now has a blog directory, though your blog has to be 6 months old to register it.
Thanks!

I know this is an old post, but I “stumbled upon” it and had to say thanks for the tips. Like the other commenters, I had never thought or heard about the Google pages idea. I’ll have to give that a try.
